I recently purchased and used a JD 2R FlexiPlanter. It works very well and it suited for compacts. It flexes over uneven terrain. I planted 1 acre of sweet corn.

I read one thread talking about getting dual tires for a compact - tried to find the company mentioned on the web with no luck -Unverfurth Manufacturing phone number is 419-532-3121. Anyway, I want to know if dual tires would make a difference? Obviously on hills it would add stability, but what about in the mud, snow? Better than chains? Better than ballast or wheel weights? I have seen several older ford n's with a set of duals so they have been used before.Eric<br>

I have a TC33D and I plowed about 1.5 acres with a older Ford 2 btm plow. The soil had some moisture and the field has been plowed before. The TC33D did have trouble sometimes, but if your patient and willing to take the time it can get the job done. Not sure if it is hurting my tractor. If I were going to plow over five acres in rough soil, I would opt for a larger machine TC45. etc.

I recently purchased a ford 2 btm plow for my TC33D. I can't remember the plow size, but the hydro will pull it with some difficulty. The tractor will bog down on occaision. Based on everything I have heard about the comparison of
33 to 35, the 35 is the way to go based on Loader and 3 pt capacity not to mention the larger tractor size and extra drawbar hp. I am not ready to trade up yet, but if I were more serious about plowing and other work I would go for the 35 or 40.

I was plowing this Sunday for about 4 hours and put my TC33D up to go get more fuel and when I came out there was a puddle of fluid under the tractor. It was coming from the center housing near the first hydraulic drain plug (a cotter pin was in the hole). Most of the hydraulic fluid had leaked out so I called my dealer and he picked up the tractor on Monday. Has anyone else experienced this? I hope I didn't get a lemmon?Eric

Does anyone have any experience using the JD 71 Flexi-Planter? I just picked one up on ebay. I checked with a dealer and the book price was $1800. What are these units going for used? Thanks - Eric

Does anyone have any experience using the 3 pt. John Deere Flexi-Planter. It looks like it could be used for small row crops or a medium size hobby farmer. I have 7 acres and I am looking for advice on what and how to plant.Thanks,Eric
